Last week (mid-October 2024), Microsoft began rolling out new functionality within the Microsoft Purview AI Hub. This update brings innovations to the Overview, Recommendations, Reports and Policies pages, as well as an improved Activity Explorer. And good news: this happens automatically without any action on your part as an administrator!
What will change in Microsoft AI Hub?
Currently, Microsoft Purview AI Hub already provides insight through Analytics, Policies and Activity Explorer. After this update, the navigation will be greatly expanded and clearer, with the addition of:
- New overview page: this page gives you a running start with recommendations for improving AI data security. It also shows analysis and helpful links to documentation.
- Recommendations: a new section where you get an overview of Microsoft-generated recommendations, including their progress.
- Reports (formerly known as Analytics): this page groups data and activities by users and dates.
- Policies: a revamped list of policies you can customize, linked directly to the solutions within Purview.
- Improved Activity Explorer: this displays all activities and events generated by the policies created by AI Hub.
Why is this important?
These updates not only help you improve the security of your AI data, but they also provide clear insight into what is happening within your AI environment. This allows you to get the right recommendations and easily manage your policies. I am very excited about these developments because they bring us another step closer to a secure-by-default environment for AI applications.
What can you do in the meantime?
While no action is required, it may be helpful to inform your IT management team of these changes and update your documentation as needed. You can also start by reviewing the extensive documentation for Microsoft Purview AI Hub to be optimally prepared.
